They're getting ready for Christmas!

I have often wondered how the Americans manage to get such perfect christmas trees such as the famous one in New York. Well now I know. They cheat!!!

This huge Christmas tree went up at the shopping mall on November 5th weekend and as you can see from the photos, what they do is to add in branches to give it volume - it's a bit like hair extensions for trees! It took about a week to do. So what you see as the final decorated tree is something that really does not exist - it is enhanced! Still, it was a huge job, measuring out the branches and nailing them in. The tree-lighting ceremony is on November 19th, so hopefully I will be able to post a photo of the tree in all its splendour before I leave.
