The skies seem bigger in California...

I haven't yet worked out why this should be. But anyway, something to add to the BIG list:
Big Skies!
I have seen some amazing skies at sunset, including this one with a weird cloud formation and the setting sun shining underneath it. It was raining somewhere this evening because that's a rainbow between the two palm trees in photo 3. People get very excited here when there's a few drops of rain. They throw their arms up in the air and say "Hallelujah" and "Eureka" and wonder if it's worth putting the top up on the convertible. I was under a little cloud yesterday which plopped three or four drops onto Newport Beach and took everybody by surprise. They all looked extremely happy! But it only lasted a few seconds. They won't be turning the automatic watering systems off yet!
