All time records were broken today as the temperature hit 113 degrees farenheit (45 celsius). I was walking round the beautiful gardens of the Mission San Juan Capistrano and it just got hotter and hotter...The third picture shows all that remains of the stone church at the mission. It took 9 years to build and 6 years after it was completed there was a sudden earthquake during morning mass and the roof caved in killing forty people.
It was a lovely visit, if somewhat depressing and I felt I was starting to get heat stroke by the end, so I had to go and stand by a fan in a shop and pretend to be choosing postcards. The next solution to the problem was to drive around in the car with the air conditioning on at full blast. Still, I'm not complaining...it's all part of the experience! It's beautiful but it's HOT!
